    Dispute with Bishop in Milwaukee over $80 payable to the Cathedral in Milwaukee. Peter and family were members of St. James Catholic Church in Mequon up to that point.

    Peter was upset about the $1 per acre fee or $80 owed to the church for being a member. He went to Milwaukee to visit with the Bishop of Milwaukee regarding the matter. When Peter arrived and met with the Bishop, Peter was upset that the church was asking for a large sum of money (for the time period) and that the Bishop lived in a luxury that Peter had neve seen before.

    Peter was also upset that for failing to anti up with the $80, the priest at St. James shuned the Guidinger family. Peter and Anna's son Peter Jr could not receive his first communion at the church until the $80 was paid.4

Robert "Bob" was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 13, 1930 to Marie (nee Gebhardt) and Henry J. Guidinger. Bob attended St. Francis Seminary before joining the US Navy in 1951, serving his country for 4 years. He met Ida Marie Dyal from Mobile, AL while stationed in Pensacola, FL. They were married on August 29,1953. After the Korean War ended, he moved his beautiful wife and first born child north to Wisconsin where they had 7 more children. He was a dedicated family man and happiest at family gatherings. He was a devout Catholic and regularly volunteered at church throughout his entire life. Until recently he could be found helping out at Elmbrook Hospital. Bob was an Eagle Scout. He was a successful business owner of Guidinger's Pewaukee Lake Liquor Store and was fortunate to retire early and learn numerous new sports like golf, tennis, downhill skiing, pickleball, and even windsurfing. Always in search of new experiences, he landed a cast member position at Epcot and joined the Disney family. He was the epitome of 'work hard/play hard'. He was a long-standing member of the Pewaukee Yacht Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, son Peter (who died shortly after his birth) and youngest daughter Sara Tesch. Bob is survived by his only brother Arthur and sister-in-law Lois Guidinger; children Nancy (John) DeLorme, Carol (Steve) McCulloch, Robert P., Rose (Joseph) Nelson, Peggy (Mike) Moreno, Dan (Molly), and son-in-law Eric Tesch. Also survived by 16 grandchildren David, Jeff (Amanda), Dan & Mike DeLorme; Bryan (Joanna) & Katie (fiancee Steve) McCulloch; Ian, Will & Sydney Nelson; Marisa & Kristen Moreno; Lucy & Josie Guidinger; and Elijah, Natalie & Piper Tesch; with 4 great-grandchildren, Riley Bakemeyer; Claire & Nathan DeLorme; and Tyler McCulloch. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 9 to 11 am at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church (W280 N2101 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee, WI) with Mass to follow at 11 am. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Pewaukee. In lieu of flowers donations to Elmbrook Hospital or Alzheimer's Association appreciated.

  • Sara A. Tesch, age 50, of Oconomowoc, WI, found peace on Monday, April 16, 2018. Sara was born on May 18, 1967 in West Allis, WI. She was raised in West Allis and then Pewaukee, WI by Robert and Marie (Dyal) Guidinger. On June 16, 1995, Sara was united in marriage with Eric her one true love and soulmate.



    Our beautiful Sara was a loving Mom, devoted wife and friend to so many. If you knew Sara, you know the importance she placed on her family. They were everything to her, always her highest priority. She never missed an event or game to cheer on her children, who have been involved in so many sports over the years. She happily served as Captain of “Team Tesch”. In reality, she served so many roles for so many people. Her caring, giving nature was displayed with countless volunteer hours throughout her entire life. For instance, she stepped up to be the team manager for the club soccer team and co-led the girl and boy scout troops. Sara truly enjoyed the outdoors, organizing/hosting family gatherings, taking fall family hikes, neighborhood walks and planning memorable family vacations. One of her favorite trips was an annual trip up north to spend time with family relaxing, laughing, playing games and just enjoying seeing her kids with their cousins. It wasn’t long after a few of these trips that she purchased 2 kayaks so they could all enjoy being on the water throughout the summer. She loved to cook and cooked with love. In her spare time you could often find her reading a book – something her own mom loved and instilled in her as a child. Sara was extremely thoughtful, unselfish and always had a smile.



    Sara is survived by her loving husband Eric of 22 years; her children Elijah, Natalie and Piper Tesch; her father Robert Guidinger; her father and mother-in-law Dick (Marlys) Tesch; her siblings Nancy (John) DeLorme, Carol (Steve) McCulloch, Bob Guidinger, Rose (Joe) Nelson, Peggy (Mike) Moreno, Dan (Molly) Guidinger; brother and sister-in-law Bryan (Michelle) Tesch and

    a very large extended family and close friends. Sara is preceded in death by her mother Marie Guidinger; her brother Peter Guidinger and brother-in-law Joel Tesch.



    Services for Sara will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (1165 E. Summit Ave, Oconomowoc) on Friday, April 20 at 6pm. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 pm until time of service.4
