    Frank Guidinger, 81, 305 8th Ave. NE, Minot, died Thursday in a Minot nursing home.

    He was born August 6, 1921, in rural Grano on the family farm to Edward and Mabel Guidinger. He attended Lockwood Elementary and graduated from Mohall High School in 1941. He farmed with his brother, Lyle for a time and worked several jobs in the Mohall area. He later moved to the Minot area where he worked for Behms and the City of Minot, retiring in the mid 1980's. He was a resident at Trinity Homes for the past 10 years.

    He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

    Family: sisters, Jean Limke, Lansford and Margaret Theis, Mohall and 11 nieces and nephews. His parents and one brother, Lyle, preceded him in death.

    Funeral Mass: Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Homes, Minot.

    Rosary Recitation: Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Homes, Minot.

    Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the nursing home.

    Burial: Rosehill Memorial park, Minot at 12:15 p.m. on Monday.

  • Gilbert grew up on the farm that Peter Guidinger homesteaded. He lived there until 1992 when he sold the farm. It was difficult for him to sell the farm because of all the family history that occured there, but due to high taxation of the property value, the 80 acre farm was not something he could afford in retirement. The farm was subdivided shortly after it was sold. Gilbert worked closely with the developer to insure that the history of the farm was not lost. Gilbert grew pine trees as a hobby and business during the later years, after cattle. Some of those pine trees became the focus for the name of the subdivision 'The Pines' and those trees were used in the landscaping of the new development. Gilbert and Jennie after selling the farm moved to the Town of Cedarburg and built another home on Foxcroft Drive. Gilbert lived and died in that house on June 27th, 2007. ABT 1992 ABT 1992
